Reiki Dordogne

The Domaine de Mazieras

The Domaine is owned by Roelf Van der Wal and Dora Wolthuis and is located near to the village of Issac in the Dordogne, South West France.  It stands on a 100 hectare arable farm growing sunflowers, maize, chestnut trees, poplars and walnuts.  It is an abundant place set on a gently sloping hill with woodland behind perfect for walking and exploring.  A stream runs along the lower border of the land and the area is very active with wildlife such as Deer, Rabbits and European Beaver.

The main house consists of two self-catering 4 bed Gites and a I bed appartment.  It is fronted by a heated salt swimming pool which is active in the summer months and a tennis court.  In the summer the Gites can be rented weekly and out of season can be rented for shorter periods of time.  There are also a number of Chambres d’Hotes in the area with individual rooms. 

The local area is real rural France with acres of green pasture, pretty stone houses and ancient villages.  There are an abundance of Chateaux to visit and other outdoor activities that can be arranged include horse-riding, canoeing, mountain-biking and hiking.  I have also found a local spa treatment centre which has a Moroccan Hammam with traditional and asian massage, hot stones and other luxurious beauty treatments. 

The nearest airport is Bergerac 30 minutes away which has budget airline flights to the UK. Ryanair fly from Stansted, Flybe from Gatwick and to Bordeaux which is 1.5 hours away, BA & Easyjet fly from Gatwick.  All airports have car hire firms or we can arrange airport transfers.
